Part of a TV programme viewed recently made the point that a forensic analysis of a computer hard drive will show to what use that PC has been put. Websites viewed, data downloaded, etc. Such evidence obtained in this way can lead to a criminal conviction, even though the digital material has been long hidden.
Barry CRYER, a few years ago, made a recording of his favourite parrot jokes. This recording can be found on YouTube. One of the stories goes like this.
A lady walking past a pet shop saw in the window a beautiful parrot for sale. She went in, and asked how much the parrot cost.
Twenty Pounds, the shop keeper told her.
Is that all? Such a beautiful bird. I’ll have it, please.
The shop keeper said, There is something I must tell you about this bird. It has been kept in a brothel in recent years, which makes it capable of coming out with unseemly comments.
I’ll risk it, says the lady, paid her money, and carried the caged bird from the shop.
When she got home, she placed the cage in her lounge, removing the cloth cage cover. The parrot looks around, and says,
New place. Very nice.
Just then the lady’s two daughters come in. The parrot looks them up and down, then says,
New place. New girls. Very nice.
Just then the lady’s husband comes in. The parrot looks at him and says,
Hello, Keith.
You see, if the PC hard drive doesn’t get you, the parrot will.
This matter of being seen, nothing is hidden for ever, needs taking seriously for it was written long
ago:-
” —- no created thing is able to escape its scrutiny; but everything lies bare and completely exposed before the eyes of Him with whom we have to do.”
New Testament letter to Hebrew Christians
